It comes down to whose name is on the controlling contract. If EOS is the company that the contract was signed with, and HarperCollins is publishing the ebook under that contract, they may have decided to keep the name. It's not nearly as uncommon as you think.


It's also possible that the person entering the information put EOS in error and no one bothered to fix it. People do make mistakes, you know.

Amazon has a legal responsibility to pull pirated copies when it is brought to their attention. Do you serious claim that no one has asked Amazon or HarperCollins if this was legit in the space of 10 months? With such a famous book, it's a lot more likely that both got inquires within a couple of weeks.
