I'm basically in the same boat as graycyn, except I never had a 6" reader. Started with PRS-900, then 950, then Aura HD and now One. I definitely love the extra real estate on One, but the ppi increase going from Sony to Kobo was much more noticeable than from HD to One. I guess reading in the larger font makes it less pronounced, smaller font sizes do appear smoother on the One.
