Doesn't jguoguen do anything anymore? I've seen some time ago that he retired from maintaining any software related to Kobo-devices because of some disappointment with regard to them, but I don't know much about them.

It's one of the reasons why I'll always keep the latest working firmware on hand, because the Kobo Extended driver is the only way a Kobo is usable for me by converting books to KEPUB in the background while injecting CSS to fix the full screen problem.

Probably, converting to KEPUB in combination with firmware patches to fix the full screen bugs will also also work, but the KEPUB output plugin is also a piece of software started by jguoguen. I don't know its current status.

I always find it so strange that there are billions of people in this world, and still many open source projects basically run on one man/woman, apart from a bit of help here or there.

Even though I don't write code for the open source community, I try to contribute a bit by compiling the latest versions of several Go and Chess engines, that would otherwise either be available on Linux, or be very far behind on Windows (as some engines need fixes or changes to actually compile and run on Windows). Still, to be honest, if I didn't play Go or Chess, I wouldn't be compiling those engines either...
