I'm going to admit, I certainly did not take that comment as anything more than musing, not mentioning a possibility that isn't supported by anything from Amazon, at least, not that I know of. There's a hell of a lot of updating that could be done, to the older eInks, long before KFX, of all things. Just bringing them up to KF8 would be a significant change in the right direction.

Agreed. That they've done what they have, to the K3's, etc., is, in my eyes, remarkable.

On this topic, I really have no additional information than the consumer on the street, but I have no reason to believe that this upgrade will occur. After all, they've embraced media queries to make books function, to some level, on the older devices. If nothing else, at least they haven't abandoned the older devices--like a certain major device manufacturer that we all know.
