I use my PW2 and Kindle apps to read, but I don't use Kindle for PC so the new version doesn't affect me at all.

I do enjoy the feeling of knowing that my purchases are safe even if Amazon cuts me off or goes away. I have an older Kindle model registered to my account so I am not in any danger of losing the ability to backup my purchases any time soon.

I would continue to buy from Amazon even if I couldn't back up my e-books, but I would be less happy about it.
