So for me the original Nook with glowlight is the best ereader I've yet had. Each one to come after it has lost just one more useful feature, Button's so it can be used in gloves, press on/off for the light, temperature reslience at low or high temps etc.

I agree. They've become collectible I think. When I've gone to look for them on eBay the unused ones go for far more than I'm willing to pay. There's also the screen tearing issue you have to watch out for when you do find an affordable used one.
I prefer Kobo's software. But if B&N were to bring back the design of the Simple Touch with Glowlight in a new device (with the high-res carta screen and waterproofing of the latest model, since I'm dreaming) I'd snap it up.
