Free (Kindle) Night Frost by Basil Copper [Vintage LA PI vs Bahamas Crime Mystery]

Night Frost by the late British author Basil Copper (ISFDB, Wikipedia, obituary at The Guardian), perhaps best known for his contributions to the Solar Pons series which was a popular Sherlock Holmes pastiche back in the day, is the 2nd novel in his Mike Faraday series of vintage crime thrillers starring the eponymous gritty P. I. in California, this one a busman's holiday adventure finding him embroiled with solving a mafia murder during a vacation in the Bahamas, free courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press's Venture imprint, who are e-printing it from its original 1966 edition.

We've previously received the 1st-in-series as a freebie as well, in case you wanted to start there: The Dark Mirror

Currently free @ Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK and pretty much everywhere else worldwide that Amazon sells, since this is being done via their KDP Select exclusive-or-else program)

Description
American private investigator Mike Faraday thought he’d manage to escape the slog of detective work waiting for him in downton L.A. when he jets off to the Bahamas.

But that dream is shattered when he finds a body dumped on the beach in front of him.

Quickly, he becomes embroiled in the violent Mafia underworld, taking a few batterings along the way and meeting some men, and some women, that tend to get your blood boiling.

Follow Mike Faraday as he navigates this precarious illicit gangland and tries to get to the bottom of the hideous crime that has begun to haunt his darkest hours.

Night Frost is a fast-moving crime thriller featuring Mike Faraday, the gritty detective who makes his living the hard way in downtown L.A. Faraday’s sardonic humor and way with the ladies lend an authenticity to this story and the mystery only gets more and more twisted the more Faraday discovers.
