Yes it survived every trip to the sauna I ever took it on. As for hardware everything but the screen still works, plug in an HD cable and its golden for movie files etc.
If I thought I could get 'new' original nook with glowlight's (the ones with the grey border) I would. It's far better than everything I've tried since. Especially temperature resilience.
I recently got the new metalic cased 'water resistant' nook glowlight and it is fairly terrible. It has an internal thermometer of some sort that makes it cut out in the cold, or in the hot, and then requires a hard reboot to start again.
So for me the original Nook with glowlight is the best ereader I've yet had. Each one to come after it has lost just one more useful feature, Button's so it can be used in gloves, press on/off for the light, temperature reslience at low or high temps etc.
