I have been using ABC Amber LIT Converter to convert the .lit files to other formats for some time now. It will convert to a number of different formats including PDF and TXT. It is a free program, but it does insert a tag into at least the PDF format files says that they where converted using Amber LIT. But that is a small price to pay.
