When I choose 2 columns per page, only 1 page is flipped after turning the page, e.g. it is displayed page 1+2, next turn would be 2+3 instead of 3+4.
That is really strange and beats the purpose of that view IMHO. Strangely, it works fine in the "contents" section of a book.

Using mac btw.

Any ideas?
I have the same issue -- I checked for a response to this and didn't see one, but if I missed it, just point me in the right direction!

The issue concerns the settings for Configure Ebook Viewer > Text layout in paged mode > The number of pages to show on screen. In Portrait mode, I'd prefer to have 2 columns. But when I set this, and go to the Next or Previous Page in the Viewer, the view advances by one column only. That is, I read the first (left) column of text, and then the second (right) column; when I go to the Next Page, only the first column of text disappears. The second column moves over to the left and remains on screen, and a new column appears of text on the right.

What I expected is the same behaviour as turning the page in a physical book: both current "columns" (or "pages", if you prefer) go away and I now see two new columns/pages of text.

The impact of the Viewer's behaviour is that, apart from the first page (where I read both columns/pages of text), thereafter I only ever read one column/page (the right-hand one) before flipping the page: that's because every time I flip the page, the left-column ends up showing text I've already read. The same behaviour applies if you choose 3 or more columns: in each case, flipping the page only changes the right-most column.

One workaround is to hit next page multiple times: if you have a 2-column display, hit it twice; if 3 columns, hit it 3 times; and so on. This will then ensure that the entire display is filled with columns of fresh text.

Another workaround, and the one I use, is to keep the view to one column. I prefer this in Portrait mode anyway, But in Landscape mode, 2 columns would definitely be more convenient and "natural".

Any constructive advice would be appreciated!

FYI, I am using Calibre 2.76 on a Windows 10 device (Surface Book).
