I'm assuming that most, if not all, of the choices referred to below are fiction of some kind . . . .

I think that this has been a long-term promotion. But some on MobileRead may not have been here long enough to see posts about it, the most recent of which I remember several years ago.

Go to a HarperCollins website. This one is as good as any. If you use that webpage, information about this promo will be at the beginning of your second screen down. The title will say "Bookperk." There will be a greenish bar going across the screen. It will say "Sign Up Now." Click on it.

You'll be taken to a webpage offering to put you on a mailing list. Just for signing up, you will be allowed to download a free ebook. You'll get a choice of one of four titles. In the past, I think that they have changed the choices of titles from time to time, so I don't know what the titles are (I wouldn't have remembered anyway).
