To be clear, when you say Adobe you mean EPUB files? And when you tried to convert them to MOBI in calibre you got a DRM error, whereas they converted fine using Mobipocket Creator?

If that is the case, open a ticket on the calibre website and attach one of these EPUB files to it, and I'll take a look.
