Brian, That DRM Check Script looks interesting but I am afraid it is way over my head. I will have to study on it while.

Ducks, I found and lost a thread dated around 2011 on a problem similar to mine, I will attempt to find it again, I think it was under Devices. It stated that somehow Amazon keys the files to your default device ID through DRM, however that works. Even though my owner ID is the same on both devices. That seems to be the Catch 22. The only solution suggested there was to go back to Amazon and redownload the affected files to the new device. Unfortunately I have 880 ebooks loaded to Calibre, about 550 from Amazon. I need to find a way to identify the bad ones of fix them, if at sll possibe. Otherwise it's pot luck and kind of defeats my purpose for using Calibre.
