Thanks, there's some really good suggestions there. I thought the Kepler didn't have buttons so I'll look at it again.

My bedroom is black. Apparently the soot is acidic and dangerous as it gets in the devices and poses a danger later, so all electrical items are replaced. I've wiped down my main icarus over 20 times now and it still stinks and it's playing up. I've been told not to recharge it. I've got a few things in the second bedroom boxed so I'm hoping they'll be ok as the smoke damage is dark grey not black.

Thanks Fizzywater, people keep saying how calm I am but when I opened the door to thick smoke and flames I feel we (me and my dog) got off lightly. Could have easily lost my home and possibly worse. Insurance company seems to be coming good. It was caused by a little heater that was subject to a voluntary recall which I had no idea about, it had been implicated then in 46 fires.
