I don't have a Touch HD, but I have had a couple of Pocket Books. They're nice, sturdy readers. But there are a bit slow on the page turns.
I remember when I went from the Sony 500 to the 505, the page turn speed changed so much that it took me awhile to get used to reading a little further before I hit that page turn button. But I did get used to it. If the Pocketbook meets all your other needs, in my opinion it's still worth getting one, even if they're a little slower than, say the Amazon Paperwhite.
