If you bought it from Best Buy and not Amazon direct and it seems like it's been packaged back up isn't that most likely due to Best Buy selling you one of their own returned units? In which case you should take it up with them.
Regarding the YouTube video if you buy direct from Amazon they come pre-registered on your account, so isn't that more likely just to have been a packing/shipping error?
