would a samsung tablet in ultra power saving mode work - that mode removes all the colour , slows the screen refresh speed, and goes to shades of grey; and AFAIK their AMOLED screen tech does not use backlights.
could be worth a try if you can borrow one to test for migraines, before making an expensive purchase, as you'll struggle to get full android + e-inik
