I bought an M96 around two years ago, however, it ended up being used very less.

Now recently, I got a Samsung Tab 10.1 with stylus for myself. Compared to PC monitors, it hardly ever causes any eye strain for me. Using Xodo PDF for PDF annotations & Inkredible Pro for note taking. Xodo (a lot lighter/simpler than EZpdf/Moon+) can do on the fly page crop & pan, while even my horrible handwriting looks excellent with Inkredible. Just one complaint, only if it was in the 4:3 ratio instead of 16:9. In landscape mode, the height it too small. Samsung did release it in 4:3 ratio last year but the display resolution 1024x768 was horrible. Also, it won't receive the latest updates, so no use buying the older model. You can't have everything...

It's not intended as an advertisement, however, in terms of stylus, the capacitive styli didn't look that good to me. Lenovo's any-pen technology is okay, but none of them is as good as Samsung's s-pen, except Apple of course. There's also Microsoft with its Surface line & the N-trig pen (quite good), however, their Surface line is hobbled with the Intel Atom processors, which is not sufficient for full fledged Windows. On the other side, Surface Pro line is good in terms of hardware specs, but it then is too big at 12 inches screen size.

Also got an iPad Pro 9.7 with Apple Pencil for the wife. We looked at the 12.9 version, but it was too bulky. 9.7 is a lot more portable. Not for me either of them though, just too many restrictions on the platform, its either the iOS way or the highway.

M96 is just sitting there gathering dust. No regrets though, it was a good experiment, its just that other devices offer a lot more features. Every one in a while I do take it out, charge the battery, flash the new firmware & play around with it, but its no longer my main reading device.

The new high-resolution screens are not that bad for the eyes. I always apply the blue filter to make the screen more yellow than the blue, it seems to help to avoid eye strain.
