This whole problem with the KA1 and sleepcovers is bizarre. It appears that eink capacitive screens aren't all created equal.

I've had the original Aura6" (which also has a capacitive flush screen) in a Gecko slimfit case since I bought it a few years ago. My husband uses it every day and it's always worked perfectly. In addition the Aura6" screen has the superior page refresh method (Regal waveform, is it??) which the KA1 doesn't have.

FWIW for my KA1, I ended up buying a cheap eBay slimfit case from China (the one that appears everywhere from multiple vendors in lots of colours). I have had an occasional problem where closing the cover doesn't always turn off the screen at the first attempt. However, the design is such that it's easy to see whether the light has actually gone off. In addition its magnetic closure does work fine and folding the front cover completely backwards doesn't trigger the on/off mechanism. For it's price (5 GBP) I've been surprisingly happy with it (love the rose gold colour).

It remains to be seen whether the new firmware will improve anything.
