I had the same issue. To get the Playstore back do the following. Note: your device needs to be rooted.

1. Download the V1.7.5 RC1 update from boox.com under support/firmware. The link to V1.8.0 also has older versions of the firmware.

2. extract the following files from the system\app\ folder of the firmware.
Google-Play-services.apk
GoogleLoginService.apk
GoogleServicesFramework.apk
Google_Play_Store.apk

3. Copy the files to your device and place them in the system\app\ folder using a file explorer with root privileges (ie. ES File Explorer, Root Explorer...)

4. Change each of the files permissions under properties in your file explorer to 6-4-4 (user=r/w, group=r, other=r).

5. Reboot your device.

When you first open Playstore it will likely update in the background and take a few minutes to work correctly. Also, about half of your app storage space will be consumed by the updates (>100MB)
