How can I make it so I have access to root again? can't find it in any settings, and the only 'related' post I saw was https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3195812 , which is still a bit annoing to use.
It was never possible to access the entire filesystem as usb mass storage. The difference to earlier versions of KSM is, that with KSM 8 a part of it has moved from the user partition to the system partition. You can access the system partition via telnet (needs to be installed/enabled of course). If PBChess is installed, KSM can make use of its dropbear too. You can enable/disable the usage of dropbear with "configure > [general] > useDropbear=true|false". If set to "true", Dropbear will be started when you enable usbnet.
