Often times we don't put one up now, but when we do it's an artificial one. It's cheaper and less work. When I was a kid though my dad would help my grandma in Stillman Valley IL with her tree for the family party, then after the party we'd take it down for her and transport it to Rochelle for our Christmas. So in the 1970's we were already practicing recycling. lol.
