Anne Perry actually has a book in the giveaway. It's filed under the Sci-Fi & Fantasy imprint.

Well, to keep things in perspective, how many mystery readers are actually taking advantage of getting all the Richard S. Prather freebies right now in what's been the 4-day window so far, vs. how many might be persuaded down the line to try a $1.99 Richard S. Prather introductory sale deal by a previous reader who took advantage of the freebies, and liked the books enough to talk them up with an enthusiastic recommendation, as Dr. Drib did with his thread in the main Deals forum which then alerted a whole bunch of other MR members to give them a try?

This current promo might be giving away most of the series, but it's only to a selected population of Gentle Readers for a limited time. OTOH, good word of mouth will probably last much longer, and reach a far greater audience who might be persuaded to invest the $$$ for the entire set than those of us inveterate freebie-grabbers who hang out in ebook discussion forums and will only have to buy a couple of titles to fill.
