On a 10" reader that does auto-hyphenation, it's very rare to have the strange spacing that shows up all the time on a 6" reader that doesn't hyphenate.

Not exactly. I read in a YotaPhone, a Kobo Aura, a Kobo Aura One and, from time to time, in an iPad. As you can see, size and readers vary. I NEVER activate hyphenation and I CANNOT read with right ragged side. Each one her own
