Some other mysteries...depending of course on your personal tastes for sub-genre, writing style, etc...

I've read and enjoyed at least one title in each of these series or by each of these authors, but YMMV.

  • Jane Dentinger's Jocelyn O'Rourke theater themed series
  • all three of Susan Dunlap's series
  • Brian Fremantle's Charlie Muffin series
  • most of Jacqueline Girdner's Kate Jasper series
  • a few John Dickson Carr titles
  • L. A. Morse's Sam Hunter titles
  • a bunch of Dorothy Salisbury Davis titles
  • the second, but not the first, of Harriet Hahn's James the Cat series (I've read the first and enjoyed, so this works for me...)
  • some of the Benny Cooperman series by Howard Engel
