The series is still on going. Currently, there are 15 books in the series. Number 16 was due out by summer of 2016, but has ran behind in its publication. Many fans are patiently awaiting news on its release date, and others, not so patiently.
Unfortiantly, it appears that Mr. Butcher had a very busy 2014/2015. He reportedly suffered from a health/dental issue, got engaged, visited many, many writing, scifi, and gaming conventions, and put the finishing touches on the first in his fantasy/steampunk(ish) new Cinder Spires series (Aeronauts Windlass), which came out in the first quarter of 2016. He is currently in the editing process of Peace Talks, and it's release is expected soon. I predict, 1st quarter of 2017.
After Peace Talks comes out, he is planning to work/finish the second book in the Cinder Spires series, and then back to Dresden, and so on.
Dresden is expected to go to 20-21 novels in his (case files) collection, and then an apocalyptic trilogy to cap the series off. So, there is an expected 8-10 more books planned for this series. Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden, should be around for some time to come.
