@Chris_Snow - sorry, I missed your reference to XP and 1.48

I suggest you remove the plugin via Preferences->Plugins->Remove plugins and then MOVE the Open With.json file from the plugins folder of the calibre configuration directory to your desktop.

Then reinstall the plugin via Preferences->Plugins->Get new plugins and do the Restart.

I would then remove the items from the PI's default list that I don't need and then add/configure the items I do need, perhaps using the json file I saved to the desktop as a guide, don't copy and paste from it as it may be the cause of your problems.

@theducks - the 'new' (50+ releases ago) built-in OW doesn't have any default keyboard shortcuts. Indeed, it doesn't even provide a place for them in Preferences-> Keyboard until you add some entries via its Add other applications for XXXX files option.

I use Alt+E for 'elp. Too easy to hit F1 when I want F2, so I always remove/disable F1 keys
