In my experience, I would go for the H2O over any of the Sony T series. The T series is slow and with hi-res images, the T series is very slow. With a lot of eBooks these days, it will take a lot longer to get to reading. It is very slow to get the ePub opened and displaying the cover. Then becomes very slow displaying the title page. Also, the options are limited and the typesetting is not as good. The T series was good in it's day, but it's day is done.
One issue with buying a T series Reader is that you won't know how good the battery is. The battery could very well be shot. If you buy say a new T2, it's been sitting there unused for some time and the battery could be flat and the battery does not like sitting there for too long being flat.

You haven't owned a T2 or T3 so you can't comment on their speed. Kobo are okay but they're nothing special. And setting them up to work with epubs is a pain patching. They should just work. They're okay, but not as good as Sony was. We have less choice. Shame Sony left the market.
