Hey Ken!
Another former Fiat 124 Spider owner here. And as a former Fiat owner, I think putting a new skin on a reliable Japanese car rather than trusting Fiat to get it right is a good idea.
One day, the new 124 Spider will be mine!
BTW: I think you'll find that Mazda makes the Miata MX-5.
