I see that Staples has dropped the price of the 7" $50 tablet this week to $39.95 just a couple of weeks after it matched Amazon's Black Friday sale of $33.33. Also Staples info for the sale reads, "While supplies last." This is unusual.

I am wondering if they are trying to get rid of their stock of this tablet that is more than a year old, because there is a new one in the pipeline. Amazon came out with a new version of their 8" tablet a few months ago in which they dropped the price a lot while doubling the storage and increasing the RAM by 50% and the theoretical battery life from 8 to 12 hours.

Any ideas about if or when a new 7" is likely to debut, or if its specs might match the new 8"? The '15 7" and 8" had the same RAM and storage, iirc.
