Same here. When it's obviously glowing than it feels too much like an iPad, so I set it to mimic, the best I can, white paper.

The darkness of the fonts are the trickier thing. I mean, it's not as light as my wife's old Kindle 2, but it's a definitely difference from the Kindle Keyboard. I still can't tell if it's darkness of the text thing or a font thing, but I'm leaning towards the latter.
