I know that you're a busy man . . . er . . . monkey, but the first one appears not to have that much to do with communication skills. It is more about the power of showing compassion.

Since I've bothered to make this post, I will go ahead and add this point. The author appears to be advocating compassion because of the benefits that it will bring to us and to the world. I believe that we should be compassionate for its own sake and, if we are religious, as duty to God. What it does to help us or the world should be a secondary consideration. My opinion.
