Sounds like most of you who had/have the HD 6 really got good ones. Mine is a refurbished unit and definitely has issues, including the screen not being properly calibrated and quick battery drainage. But for the price of $43 USD delivered to my house I guess it was still a decent buy. I do like the size and the resolution is pretty good. But to be honest, I won't be buying any more Fires. I think they are okay for children, those little creatures who can tear up a steel anvil with a banana peel. I always thought it was silly to give an expensive smartphone and/or tablet to a young child. But with a cheap Fire a parent can look at it as a disposable device. And of course the cheap Fires can be more than enough tablet for a lot of people who are not power users. But if you really want to use a tablet for your main computing and entertainment device, a newer Fire is not the best solution by any means.
