Naxos has sent out its regular newsletter to subscribers and, if you're a subscriber, I would expect that you have it in your email inbox now. With this newsletter, we get an offer of one of three complete albums, free.

Here are the choices:
Fry: Santa Claus Symphony / Niagara Symphony
Tchaikovsky: Ballet Suites (Transcriptions for Piano 4 Hands)
Handel: Messiah (Highlights)

The procedure to see the choices, and to receive information about them, is simple enough. Open the message. Scroll down to nearly the bottom of the page; if your email program truncates messages, do what you need to do to see the complete page. You'll see thumbnails of album covers, with descriptions to the right of those albums. Immediately after that, you should see a yellowish button that says, "Click Here to Make and Receive Your Choice". Click on it. You'll be taken to a webpage which contains additional information about each album and, on that webpage you'll have an opportunity to make your selection.

As always, Naxos kindly provides the albums in the high-quality flac format (in fact, they give no other choices).

If anyone from Naxos happens to be reading this post (extremely unlikely, I'd say, but who knows?), I would like to express appreciation to you. For you to offer a complete free album, especially of the quality of these, is truly generous of you. Thank you!

Now, for the tough part--deciding which one of the fine free albums to choose!

I've heard seemingly conflicting reports about the following. I have heard that if you are not on the Naxos mailing list by the time that they send out a newsletter, it will be too late for you to take advantage of the free album offer (they make another free album offer (no choices provided--take it or leave it) a week or so prior to this one, which anyone can take advantage of). But, I've also heard that sometimes a person can sign up right after the newsletter is sent out, get the newsletter, and still get in on the month's deal. I don't know which one is correct. If someone has a definitive answer, please share it with us.

If you're not a subscriber, the Naxos homepage seems to be as good as any place on their website to sign up.
