The only format with DRM that you can read directly on your 505 is the Sony .LRX which is, I believe, only available from Sony.

A format that is acceptable for the PRS-500 is Rich Text Format (RTF) which can be output from MS Word. I assume it is also acceptable to the 505 as well. The problems are that Sony's implementation of RTF will not show images or TOC.

You can buy LRF ebooks from several places, e.g. Baen & Fictionwise (multiformat books).
