No, that was Hans Gruber, played by Alan Rickman, who also played Professor Snape in the Harry Potter films.

Perhaps a future Die Hard film could use Franz Gruber's music, and make him the ancestor of Hans and his brother (the villain of Die Hard 3) as well as a new villain who's also related to them all.
