With Sony readers, at least with the former version of Overdrive, all that was involved was finding a book, adding it to your library loans, and then clicking "download" - there was no app involved.
Now instead of a download button, books in our loans have an "add to app" button, which I assume is what you would have if you were using the Overdrive app on a tablet Nook or otherwise). However, the Sony readers are not designed to use the Overdrive app.
