I don't follow your sportsball reference, but I get the point behind it.
It's just a shame to watch B&N fumble and fail when it seems (to this amateur outsider) like it wouldn't be too difficult to fix.
The Glowlight Plus was a step in the right direction after the Glowlight (with it's restricted sideloading issue).
