Years back, the late Ray Bradbury was a guest at a West Coast SF convention, and did a signing. A fan approached with a paperback copy of every book Ray had written to get signed. Undaunted, Ray arranged the books standing up spine side out in a row on the table, whipped a magic marker from a pocket, and signed his name in flowing script across the top of the row. I was tickled when I heard about it.

I would have liked to have seen that.
(I recently saw a clever bundling, of a trilogy, in which the title for the bundle was printed across the spines; couldn't make heads nor tails of it, without all three of them. Nicely done.)
