Yeah, it's better. Because the buttons are on the front, not the sides, and are real buttons rather than squeezy things, the cover doesn't get in the way. It's a bit heavy to read one-handed with the cover on, but the buttons work just the same when you do that as they do with the cover off. (Obviously the left/right button distinction does not apply at all.)
