The three second rule (or five second rule, if you are an orthodox believer), does not apply in this house.
If you so much as put down any item (food or non-food) in a location where the cats can get to it, they will destroy it.
This applies to clothing, computer gear, food, drinks (in glasses or in cans). In other words anything.
Now, of course, your stomach acid will probably destroy any bacteria contained in the contamination, and cooking takes care of a lot of problems, but .... I just don't recommend eating anything cooked here.
Not if you value your well-being anyway.
