I've had a good run lately with promotions; I think I'm in my ninth month at the free or trivial outlay level and I've got another two-month promo I'll be signing up for later this month. That said, I've also had long fallow periods when the promos didn't work. No issue with that. Not a difficult decision for me, as I generally see very little in Audible sales that appeals.

I'd only go Light if I had a ton of credits I wanted to protect rather than squander them on books of limited interest so I could quit, but it's definitely a YMMV issue.
I never thought folks were opening new accounts; I too would find that ethically suspect. I was a loyal Audible customer for several years and just started doing the promo merry-go-round. I got no extras for my loyalty; I'm getting a lot more mileage out of the promos.

I have almost never found a book I wanted in the Audible sales--the ones that appeal are usually titles I already used credits on--so the Listener Light plan doesn't seem worthwhile.
