No. I suggest starting to use Calibre now to import and organise your books. If you wish to remove DRM, Apprentice Alf has the tools.

These both lean you toward Kobo (as does your waterproofing wish). There is no easy way (that I'm aware of) to organise Kindle collections from Calibre. I believe they need to be done by hand from the device.
