Second that. Emphatically. I am only so-so on many of his books, but the Empire of Man series (
March Upcountry,
March to the Sea, etc.), which is now available as two omnibus editions (
Empire of Man and
Throne of Stars), is a great read.

As November comes to a close, I am reading The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi.
It took a couple of false starts for me to get, well, started, but I finally have.
It does have my attention, but at only a chapter or so in, it's too early for me to say why.
