Hi Kawuli; in the iOS version there isn't a direct way to specify where the metadata.db file is. That's because Dropbox can let the app ask for the locations of all files with a specific name. In this case, Dropbox is telling the app that there aren't any files like that in your Dropbox folders. So, as DoctorOhh wrote, the first thing to do is to double check that your entire calibre library, including the metadata.db file, is actually located in Dropbox.
If the files are definitely in Dropbox, then the next thing to check is whether you've accidentally somehow denied CC access to your Dropbox. (I think the error message would be different in this case, but it's worth checking anyway.) To check, log in to the Dropbox website, go to your account settings via the menu at the top right, then click on the Security tab. Towards the end of that page should be a section called "Apps Linked". CC iOS should appear in that list with permission type "Full Dropbox". If that's not there, I'm not entirely sure how to restore it. I think the easiest would be to go back to CC's settings menu, open the "Cloud Connection" section and then tap on "Reset cloud connection". When you try to connect again, it should go through the process again of asking you to give Dropbox permission to share your files with the app.
