Also, you didn't list your location. In Europe there are several e-ink devices that run Android with access to the Play Store. You could install the Android Cool Reader app and use that.

With Cool Reader i can read books in fb2 format which saves a lot of space on the device compared to mobi format. Plus a lot of the books in my country (Bulgaria, East Europe) are in this format so i wont have to convert them with calibre. Cool Reader has a lot more customization compared to the stock software so i can tune it the way i want.
