I wonder how proud Harvard University was of their Dr. Timothy Leary (of the "tune in, turn on, drop out" fame) and the part that he helped play in helping kids kill themselves with psychedelic drugs like LSD, or mess up their lives because of such drug use. I don't know that Leary ever expressed penitence; he continued his own personal use of LSD after he quit publicly advocating it.

I think that Harvard finally did fire him, but it may have been on a pretense and not because of his advocacy of LSD or his personal use of it.
