Depending on device can you go to Archived Items or Cloud on the device and see/download your stuff that way?
Thanks for the trouble you are taking to help.

I have checked my Amazon Country settings, and it is Australia - as it has been for years.

I can't find Archived items or Cloud on the Kindle, but have partly read one of the ebooks ('Penric's Demon') on my computer using Kindle Cloud. But I can't see any way to direct the ebooks to my device from Kindle Cloud or from the device.

In the Device Options I have found and tried Restart. I'm getting desperate; there is also a Reset Device option. Is that worth trying? Would I have to update the Cloud again?

Or should I give up and buy a new/later model Kindle?
