I noted some duplicity in Best Buy's promotion. I picked up the LG Phoenix, but when I did some research post-purchase, I saw that the model's specs show 16 gb memory. Moreover, the list on that model is $99. So Best Buy is advertising a phone with
half the memory as having the same list price.
I assume that this is a special model manufactured for BF sales and costs were cut. But it's dishonest to keep the same "list" price. I suspect a more accurate "list" would be about $80. I'll add that AT&T is currently selling the 16 gb model for $50, which fits the same general parameters of $20 for an extra 8 gb. Also, the reviews mentioned a lot of bloatware and if it eats up a lot of 16 gb, very little memory may be left of 8 gb. And as I know from my LG Volt, adding an SD card is only a partial solution, as many apps won't transfer. It's really more cost effective just to get more on-board memory.
Oh, well. Even though it's not the deal implied in the ad, I'm not saying the phone isn't worth what I paid for it and I only have myself to blame for not doing more research first. But I'm dissatisfied wth Best Buy. I may end up returning this.
