Can't download from Amazon
Please bear with me: this will be a long post because many factors are involved.
- I have a Kindle Keyboard, and a Kindle Touch which Amazon recognises as Alex's Kindle2.
- I rarely use the Kindle Touch except to test ebooks I've designed in ePub and converted to mobi with calibre. To test the mobi version I connect the Kindle Touch to my Windows computer, and load the ebook to the Kindle with calibre.
- When I bought mobi ebooks from Amazon in the past I downloaded them to my computer, loaded them into calibre to make the change which is forbidden to identify on MR, and transferred them through calibre.
- I hadn't bought ebooks from Amazon for about three years until this afternoon when I bought three ebooks which are not available as ePubs.
- Amazon would not permit me to download the ebooks to my computer. I got a strange message to the effect that the ebooks were not compatible with my system.
- Wifi is active on my Kindle.
- I tried to transfer the ebooks to my Kindle through Wifi, and something must have happened because Amazon has charged me for the ebooks.
- But I can't get the ebooks to transfer to the Kindle. I have selected the second Kindle as the default, and tried several times, but the ebooks do not appear on my Kindle.
- Amazon mentions something about the Kindle Cloud, but I have never used that before and don't know what to do.
- I also can't download ebooks which I had bought from Kindle years ago and which are still available from my Amazon library.
- If it matters the Kindle has been upgraded by Amazon, and I know it can handle azw3 files.
Can anyone help me please to download the new ebooks? I'd prefer to download them to my computer if possible so I can convert them to ePub, but if I have to I'll download them directly to the Kindle and try to put them in calibre later.
